I felt that at times, Kit and Wes were more a vehicle for a conclusion to Jules story which was disappointing. I enjoyed getting back into this world and getting some resolution to Jules’ story. The action centers more around the other town newcomer, Elena, and Jules (from book 1) and her siblings. But, she is a good person and a great cop. Kit’s suspicion of what is going on in the tiny town only further her status as outsider. These two are adorable! Wes is certainly a beta hero and I found his awkwardness so endearing. The first person she meets is Wes, the fire service lookout. She is a K9 officer who takes a job in Monroe. Through the Fire is book 4 in the series but takes a slightly different trop than the previous books.
